This is London Bridge in South London, it was designed by John Rennie and made of granite in 1831. . .When it did start to crumble and fall apart, they decided to auction it off. That's how it ended up in Arizona.
London Bridge is falling down. . .we all know the the words to the nursery rhyme! It really did fall down, and it was resurrected in Arizona, at Lake Havasu! Robert P. McCulloch an oil man purchased the London Bridge in 1968 for $2,460,000. It was taken apart and each piece numbered and then reconstructed in Arizona. It is now one of Arizona's top tourist attractions. (we were some of those tourists last year) The 2nd time around it's still beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI have read about the bridge and saw something on The History Channel. It is something isn't it.
