(Some are quite elaborate don't you think?)
We have such a short growing season here in
Southeast Idaho.
Many of the plants get their start in greenhouses
they simply wouldn't make it!
It was cold on the 4th of July this year,
I mean seriously you wanted your 'winter coat' kind of weather!
Many people have their own greenhouses so they can
get things growing earlier, without worrying
about frost, yes FROST!
We had frost this year in June, argh. . .
Besides unusually cold weather we have had more than our share
of WIND, not gentle breezes, but
gusty, obnoxious WIND!
My hanging basket has spent more time
hanging out in the garage, than on the patio, because
the wind keeps trying to blow it away.
Anyway I've been thinking it would be nice to
have a greenhouse where I could satisfy my
gardening obsession and not have to worry about
frost or wind.
I found some really great photos of private
greenhouses. I had to share these with
you for

great entries!
I'm crossing my fingers, and saying a little prayer
hoping for a
Wednesday without wind. . .

  1. Oh yeah...I'm obsessed with greenhouses too! I did a post once in my blog coz I want one in my property. Thanks for sharing these nice images.

  2. What's not to like about those greenhouses! They are all great. I bet you really could benefit from a greenhouse with such a short growing season. I can't decide.......can I have one of each?

  3. Love the greenhouses, I think it would be great to have one! Hope you get yours!

  4. I want one too......I need to be RICH....LOL !

  5. This is in one of my wish list! It is great to be back and visiting you again. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day! verbena cottage

  6. beautiful green houses! I would love to have any one of them in my yard! Maybe the not so friendly SQUIRREL who has been eating our apricots, tomatoes and apples wouldn't find his way in! I hope he likes peanut butter...because the trap is set!

  7. Oh, my goodness! I love greenhouses. My dad had one when I was growing up that I didn't appreciate at the time and wish I had now. I love all these beautiful images. Hope you have had a windless Wednesday!

  8. These greenhouses are wonderful and I would be happy to have any of them! Since that doesn't look likely to happen, I am going to content myself with the two window walls (floor to ceiling) in our new house in CT. I'm dreaming of all the greenery and blooming plants that will live in those windows this winter!
